However, even if you don’t use any of the facilities in your condominium complex, you are responsible to pay for the upkeep and repair.
  • Before you buy, find out what the hot issues are in the particular condominium you are interested. Also ask how large the Home Owner Association’s reserve funds (used to pay for maintenance and emergency repairs on the building) are. The larger the reserve, the less chance of an assessment or one-time payment to chip in for an unexpected expense. The smaller the reserve, the greater the chance you will be billed for an assessment in the near future.
